The Mayfair Community Development Corporation is eligible for several awards that will be presented at the 2016 Gala of the Philadelphia Association of Community Development Corporations.
Nomination forms for the Blue Ribbon, Community Leader and Rising Star awards are available via pacdc.org/node/2404. The deadline is 5 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 15. Winners will be recognized at PACDC’s 2016 Gala and Awards Ceremony on Thursday, April 21, at 5:30 p.m. at WHYY.
Blue Ribbon Awards for Community Development Excellence honor small and large CDCs for either a program or real estate development project. Community Leader Awards recognize outstanding volunteer leadership. Rising Star Awards spotlight community development staff members under 40 from CDC and Associate Member organizations (both nonprofit and for-profit).
Among the accomplishments of the Mayfair CDC are starting a business improvement district, starting a farmers market, starting a third Thursday night market, starting a Fallen Heroes Run, rebuilding the Mayfair Memorial Playground, helping run the Mayfair May Fair, starting a Christmas Village, rehabbing several homes under the Act 135 conservatorship law and maintaining a clean sweep program.
